The elongation rate of stainless steel is small, the modulus of elasticity is large, the hardening index is high, and the thickness anisotropy index r value is very small (stainless steel is 0.9~0.11, mild steel is 1.3~2.0). Austenitic stainless steel is meta-stable, and it undergoes phase transformation during deformation, which induces a martensite phase. Martensite is relatively brittle, so it is prone to cracking. During plastic deformation, as the amount of deformation increases, the content of induced martensite will also increase with the increase of the amount of deformation. The greater the residual stress, the higher the content of induced martensite phase and the resulting residual stress. The larger the size, the easier it is to crack during processing
